Marinated Quaq Paired with Roasted Potatoes and Broccoli
Recipe by First Fish Foodie
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 30 Minutes
Ingredients:
Quaq Cubed Char
Soy Sauce
Maple Syrup
Olive Oil
Garlic, Minced
Lemon, Juiced
Salt. & Black Pepper
Paprika
Garlic Powder
Russet Potatoes
Broccoli
Preparation:
Start by preheating the oven and preparing the roasted potatoes by cutting the russet potatoes into bite-sized pieces and tossing them with olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder until evenly coated. Spread the potatoes onto a baking sheet and roast until golden and crispy, adding the broccoli halfway through so it becomes tender with lightly crisp edges.
While the vegetables roast, prepare a simple glaze for the cubed char by mixing soy sauce, maple syrup, olive oil, minced garlic, fresh lemon juice, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Add the cubed char and gently toss to coat, allowing it to marinate briefly while the vegetables finish cooking. In the final minutes of roasting, add the marinated char to the baking sheet or cook separately in a hot pan until lightly caramelized and just cooked through. Serve the roasted char alongside the crispy potatoes and broccoli for a hearty, flavourful meal with a balance of sweet, savoury, and smoky notes.
