Maple Soy Glaze Quaq paired with a Cucumber Salad & Rice
Recipe by First Fish Foodie
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 10 Minutes
Ingredients:
Quaq Cubed Char
Soy Sauce
Maple Syrup
Olive Oil
Dijon Mustard
Garlic, Minced
Ginger, Grated
Lemon, Juiced
Black Pepper
Cucumbers
White Rice
Preparation:
Start by cooking the white rice according to package instructions and set it aside, keeping it warm. While the rice cooks, prepare the maple soy glaze by whisking together soy sauce, maple syrup, olive oil, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, grated ginger, fresh lemon juice, and a pinch of black pepper until smooth and well combined. Add the cubed char to a bowl and gently coat it in the glaze, letting it marinate for about 10–15 minutes so the flavours can soak in. Meanwhile, slice the cucumbers thinly and set them aside for a fresh, crisp side. Pop them in the Air Fryer and cook the marinated char until lightly caramelized on the outside and just cooked through, spooning a bit of extra glaze over top as it cooks for added richness. Serve the glazed char over warm rice with the fresh cucumbers on the side for a balanced, bright finish. Enjoy!
