Crispy Beer-Battered Halibut Served with Roasted Potatoes
Recipe by First Fish Foodie
Prep Time: 5 Minutes
Cook Time: 20 Minutes
Ingredients:
Halibut Fillet
Beer
Flour
Roasted Potatoes
Vegetable or Canola Oil
Lemon Slice
Paprika
Garlic Powder
Salt and Pepper to taste
Preparation:
Pat the halibut fillet dry and season with salt and pepper. For the batter, mix a cup of flour and a cup of beer until it’s nice and smooth, then season it with a bit more salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Dip the fish in the batter so it’s well coated with a thick layer. Heat up some vegetable or canola oil in a deep pan to around 350–375 degrees, making sure there’s enough oil to cover most of the fish. Gently place the fillet in the hot oil and let it fry for about 10 minutes, turning it consistently until it’s golden and crispy all over. When it’s done, set it on some paper towel to soak up the extra oil, squeeze a little fresh lemon juice on top, and serve it up with roasted potatoes or fries. Enjoy!
