Our Pickerel Fillets are arriving from Ile-a-la Crosse in Northwestern Saskatchewan! The Pickerel, also called Walleye, is wild-caught by Indigenous fisherpeople during the Winter fishing season and is a important piece of their culture.
 
A simple but elegant fillet of fish, not much is needed to bring out its delicious flavours. Since it comes from cold waters the fish has a cleaner, fresh taste.
 
Pickerel is a freshwater fish with a mild flavour with flaky white flesh. Perfect for pan-searing, battered and fried!
